We’re pleased to promote Oxon Carts, Oxford’s rickshaw operators - offering fast, fun and green transport in the city:
If your family or friends are visiting Oxford, why not book them a tour of the University and City Centre with Oxon Carts? They can sit back and relax on a rickshaw, enjoying the narrow lanes and non-motorized areas of Oxford - seeing places just inaccessible to open-top bus tours! What’s more, there’s a fit, fun and friendly rider to talk to the whole way through.
There is complete flexibility to tailor tours to your particular requirements, so avoid or focus on any place you like. The tours can start and end at destinations of your choice, so why not finish your tour at a punt station? The Oxon Carts tour was featured in the 2009 Lonely Planet guide to England - book your tour early to avoid disappointment!
Oxon Carts is also looking for employees to act as rickshaw riders, starting part-time with a view to extending to full-time during the summer vacation. The work is fun, and you’re effectively being paid for a gym session, so it’s a perfect summer job. Riders can do extra training to give tours, or just focus on the regular passenger and delivery work. Pay is £7-8 per hour, plus tips.

We’re nearly a week old, and to keep pace with the web we’ll be rolling out some upgrades over the next week or so. If you have any requests for features you’d like to see, then let us know.
We’ll be introducing the following:
- New templates for user blogs, watch this space for more details
- A stats plugin for user blogs
- One or two rendering issues when users are not logged-in
- Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which will be issued shortly
Users should see these changes taking place over the next week. We’ll post again as we update these features. As ever, if there’s anything else we can do, then we’d love to hear about it.

Welcome to OxBlogger.com! Today is the “official” start of the site, although in practice the development is ongoing. There’s a load of information about the site, which talks about our vision and philosophy - which hopefully strikes a chord with rookie bloggers out there.
To get started you need to register, and you have two options. You can either get a blog, or if you don’t want a blog, but would like to comment on blogs across the site, you can sign up for a “blogless” account. Once you’re logged in, you can access your “Dashboard” using the grey menu at the top of the page. Here you’ll be able to post, upload files, and manage your blog.
We’re always working to provide users with as many features as possible. Currently we’re adding more templates to the site, but bear with us on that - at present there are the two default Wordpress templates, called “Default” and “Classic”. You can access and change these from the dashboard homepage. We hope to add an “Appearance” menu item soon, where you’ll be able to manage templates and widgets.
As standard your blog comes with the “Sociable” plugin, which allows you to tag your posts on the major social network/bookmarking sites. We hope to add more soon, and welcome your suggestions. We’re currently working on a plugin to allow users to rate posts, and we’ll try to integrate the best posts into our homepage.
If you have any further questions or queries, check out our FAQ, or drop us a line from the support page.
More soon!
